UPDATES:

7.16.2026: I think I may have to start over. I was using RPG maker for the engine as that's what I already had when I started this project. But now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think RPG Maker is going to be the best enigine for the game. I'm thinking of moving to Game Maker Studios, since that should have more of the action dirven combat that I'm looking for, verse the turn based that RPG Maker has built in. I haven't made the decision yet, but I'm leaning that direction.

Lyra's Game (WIP)

When I was a kid, I used to play Spyro the Dragon all the time. He was cool, edgy, kinda a rebellious teenage dragon. This apparently stuck with me, as one night I had a dream. In this dream, I was playing a video game featuring a little unicorn/alicorn with similar mechanics to Spyro. However, the worlds that this little unicorn was exploring was famous paintings, specifically Vincent Van gogh's Starry Night. I saw the stars on the nights sky moving as this little unicorn explored deeper in the painting. When I woke up, I immediately started to work on it.

Lyra is a little unicorn with wings that aren't yet strong enough for long distance flighting yet. One day she wakes up to find that all of the color has been stolen from her tapestry (based on The Unicorn Tapestries). But it's not just her. The color has been stolen from all of the art in The Gallery. Lyra must find the color shards, help the inhabitants of the paintings resolve their issues, and find out who or what is stealing all of the color.
